  • How to set up Dose-Volume objectives, constraints and Optimization parameters in Optimizer

  • How to create inverse plans using Optimizer, with and without consideration of pre-treated dose

  • How to evaluate inverse treatment plans

  • How to carry out quality assurance checks of
    inverse treatment plans

  • How to export inverse treatment plans to a linear accelerator for treatment

Subjects

  • Basics of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)

  • Optimisation algorithm used in Oncentra Optimizer

  • Dose and dose-volume objectives and constraints for inverse treatment plans

  • Optimization, Segmentation and Final Calculation

  • Gantry angle optimization

  • Manual modification of optimized plans

  • Quality assurance tools

  • Oncentra VMAT

Training Program

Nucletron Oncentra Optimizer is an additional option to the Oncentra External Beam treatment planning software. Oncentra Optimizer creates, by means of inverse treatment planning, a sequence of MLC segments to achieve improved dose conformity.

In the training programme the participants concentrate on various aspects of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) as implemented in the Oncentra Optimizer module. These include the basics of dose prescription to volumes of interest and the handling of dose and dose-volume objectives and constraints. In addition aspects of IMRT quality assurance are discussed.

The training consists of lectures, practical demonstrations, and practical hands-on exercises.
