Your partners..... In the Field of Radiation Oncology
August 17 1998
Nucletron B.V. and the Oncology Care Systems Groups of Siemens Medical Systems, Inc., today announce a world-wide agreement in which Siemens will market Nucletron’s PLATO 3D treatment planning systems and microSelectron-HDR remote afterloading systems in combination with Siemens’ radiation oncology line of products.
The agreement also provides for Siemens and Nucletron to cooperate in the marketing of Siemens LANTIS™ oncology information systems, extending Nucletron’s product offering in clinical information systems. "We expect to see continued substantial growth with PLATO 3D as a result of this agreement. We are proud that Siemens has chosen Nucletron’s products to complement their own prestigious product line", stated Edwin Vandermeulen, Managing Director of Nucletron B.V.
Both companies retain their independence and will continue to serve their traditional markets. Both companies will continue to offer their complete product ranges through their existing network of sales offices, distributors and agents. Also, each company will provide installation, warranty, training, and post-sales services and support on their respective products. Patrick Boyle, Siemens OCS Group Vice President, underlined the additional flexibility the arrangement will provide to customers when selecting oncology care systems, saying, "Our customers have been asking for solutions that cover the entire spectrum of oncology products. We believe that this relationship will provide our customers with the largest single source of solutions."
Nucletron B.V., with headquarters in Veenendaal, The Netherlands, has an international reputation for designing and developing some of the world’s most innovative cancer treatment systems. The Oncology Care Systems Group, based in Concord, California, USA, develops and markets a wide range of radiation oncology products, including the advanced PRIMUS Linear Accelerator, for the world-wide market. It is part of Siemens Medical Systems, Inc., a leading provider of advanced medical electronic systems and products.
