A brachytherapy solution that enables very precise dose delivery for gynecologic cancers
May 5 2010 | News Release
A Simulix Evolution has recently gone into operation in the Regional Clinical Oncology Centre of Chelyabinsk, a major industrial city in the south of Russia. The new simulator enables patients to benefit from faster and more precise cancer radiation treatments, thanks to improved imaging and simulation techniques. Tumors can now be targeted with higher yet more precise doses of radiation, allowing healthy surrounding tissues to be spared.
Russian TV filmed the introduction of the Simulix as part of a news item, during which the Russian healthcare system was discussed and comparisons made with healthcare and radiotherapy elsewhere in the world. A short interview with Nucletron’s Jeroen Singelenberg also formed part of the item. This naturally provided an excellent occasion to emphasize the benefits of first-class radiotherapy equipment, and to enhance and strengthen the position of the R.C.O.C in Chelyabinsk as the leading institute in the region.
