Veenendaal, The Netherlands (April 7, 2003): - Nucletron B.V., one of the world’s leading providers of life-saving radiotherapy equipment and information software, today celebrated the installation of the 1000th Simulix HQ simulator in the Dr. Bernard Verbeeten Institute in Tilburg, The Netherlands. This milestone confirms Nucletron’s position as one of the world’s leading manufacturers and vendors of high quality conventional simulation equipment for the radiotherapy community. The Dr. Bernard Verbeeten Institute, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, is a specialized institute for Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy. The renowned institute has a strong reputation as provider of high quality cancer therapy. Dr. A. Teunissen, Chairman of the Board of the Dr. Bernard Verbeeten Institute, commented: "Within the theme “growth and differentiation” we have had a long period of co-operation with Nucletron. The clinical use of the CT functionality incorporated in the Simulix HQ as part of the simulation process, was thoroughly tested in our clinic. Today this procedure is being used for many patients, i.e. for simulation for almost all breast cancer treatments we use this technique. This results in an improved sparing of healthy tissue, in this case lung tissue. Rudolf Scholte, CEO & President, Nucletron, explained: “Since the first Simulix series more than 25 years ago, accuracy, quality and reliability have been the trademark of our simulators and have earned the Simulix products the reputation of “Gold Standard” for simulation. The delivery of more than 1000 simulators worldwide is an important milestone, which confirms Nucletron’s® leading role as provider of high quality radiotherapy solutions. We are proud and honoured that a reputable radiotherapy institute as the Dr. Bernard Verbeeten Institute has selected Nucletron as supplier of the Simulix HQ as its new simulator in order provide the highest level of cancer to its patients. Nucletron has a long established relationship with the Dr. Bernard Verbeeten Institute, which throughout the years has received our first, one-hundredth and now one-thousandth Simulix. We look forward to a successful continuation of our relationship with the Dr. Bernard Verbeeten Institute for the development and supply of specialized radiotherapy solutions for cancer treatment.” Nucletron® B.V is a subsidiary of Delft Instruments® B.V.
