Columbia, MD September 2002.  Nucletron announces a three-year buying agreement with Novation, the supply company for VHA Inc. and University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), two national hospital alliances. The agreement, which runs from May 2002 through 2005, focuses on the world-class microSelectron High Dose Rate Brachytherapy Remote Afterloader.

“We are extremely excited about the agreement with Novation.  This partnership will provide VHA, UHC, and HPPI members with contract pricing and high quality buying opportunities,” said Jack Coats, president of Nucletron.  “This relationship will provide greater value to the health care organizations Novation serves and will provide access to state-of-the-art clinical solutions unique to Nucletron.” Mr. Coats stated.  Nucletron is the world leader in high dose rate brachytherapy, having an excellent reputation with the clinicians in the radiotherapy community.

“High quality care and patient safety are priorities for the hospital members we serve,” says Larry McComber, Novation Vice President.  “Our contracting process considers both quality and financial criteria and involves significant member input.  Product offerings with both high quality and competitive pricing, such as this, are valued by the hospitals.”

The microSelectron-HDR Remote Afterloading System provides quality, safety, and reliability to meet the demands of physicians, physicists, and regulatory agencies.  The microSelectron-HDR can be used for the treatment of cancer, whether curative or palliative, at virtually any body site, often on an outpatient basis.
