The Executive Board of Delft Instruments N.V. announces that the company has taken a 35% interest in Rogan Medical Systems B.V., Zeist. Rogan Medical Systems develops software for Picture Archiving & Communication Systems (PACS). It has 11 employees. The transaction will be financed from the company's cash resources.

PACS software enables images from x-ray machines, CT scanners and other medical equipment to be stored digitally, transmitted over a data communication network and subsequently retrieved. The worldwide PACS market is expanding by approximately 25% per annum.

For Delft Instruments, this participating interest is of strategic importance since it complements the Group's radiotherapy and chest imaging activities, in which image processing plays an important role.

The acquisition is in line with the Group's strategic focus on expanding its medical activities with due consideration being given to software activities. Delft Instruments has an option to acquire a majority interest.

Delft Instruments N.V. is the holding company of an international group of companies with some 1,100 employees and annual sales of almost NLG 400 million. Delft Instruments sells primarily advanced instruments, systems and software developed and/or produced in-house for medical, industrial and scientific applications, supplemented by trading products.
