The Bonvoisin-Gérard Esophageal Applicator has been developed in cooperation with Hôpital Lyon Sud, France. It was designed to assist in the treatment of an endoscopically obstructed esophagus. By using this special dilation applicator, this area can now be reached by bouginage. The bougie tube will also assist in centering the treatment catheter to avoid a high mucosal dose, while ensuring optimal depth dose penetration of the esophageal wall by centering the treatment tube within the bougie tube. The tapered flexible tip of the bougie tube assists in bouginage of esophageal stenosis.
